Boschendal vineyards and fruit trees have been joined by vegetable gardens and a growing herd of free range, 100% pasture fed Angus cattle reflecting our commitment to serving wholesome farm-to-table food. Guest accommodation is a recent addition to the farm with luxurious cottage accommodation ranging from the exclusive and historic Rhodes Cottage built by Sir Herbert Baker to the elegantly restored Werf Cottages. Cottage guests enjoy access to the entire farm where they can walk and cycle on trails through mountain fynbos, dine under the stars, have picnics and sundowners in exclusive areas, fly-fish in the dams and swim in pristine mountain water. |

With privileged access to the entire farm, guests staying in the cottages will be able to savour the best of farm living. Choose to join farm and history tours, explore the estate on foot following trails taking you through orchards and mountain fynbos, stopping off to pick pears, plums and citrus fruits depending on the season. There are mountain biking trails, walking trails, caves to explore, wine tasting and cellar tours, trout fishing and swimming in the dams – and plenty of opportunity to sit and read, relax and generally take in the goodness of life. Dining options include eating at the Werf Restaurant, Farm Shop & Deli, Rhone Homestead or picnic area; having breakfast, lunch or dinner baskets brought to your cottage; or picking up some fresh farm produce at the deli and preparing it at the cottage. All cottages have a full kitchen, or kitchenette in the smaller cottages, and are serviced daily. Ideal for couples, families and groups of friends.

Located in a private area of the farm, surrounded by fragrant fruit orchards and rows of beautiful vines, the stunning Simonsberg Mountain is your closest neighbour. Cottage 1685
This historic cottage, built by renowned architect, Sir Herbert Baker, has been redecorated to give guests a chance to experience a piece of South African history and walk in the footsteps of Cecil John Rhodes. Set under the imposing outline of the Simonsberg mountain, the cottage has magnificent views over the Boschendal Estate and the valley. The cottage is about 2 km from the main Werf area. A large verandah, outside dining under the oaks and an eco-friendly swimming pool add to the relaxed feel of the property, which is a South African National Heritage Site. Situated behind and adjacent to the historic werf of Boschendal with ravishing views of the surrounding countryside and mountains, these subtly restored and furnished farm cottages create a virtual village in the Cape-picturesque manner in an idyllic setting. This is the unspoilt Cape as Arthur Elliott photographed it. Only an hour’s drive from Cape Town, they are ideal for historic or wineland getaways and romantic weekends. Each cottage has its own fireplace and small kitchen, while the Boschendal restaurant and Deli are within walking distance. Orchard Cottages (14 Cottages)
A collection of luxury cottages with kitchenettes, outdoor dining areas for braais, a large shared swimming pool and a magnificent setting among the Boschendal orchards. The Orchard Cottages are about 2 km from the main werf. A short drive or cycle through the pastures and fruit orchards brings guests to these stylishly converted labourers’ houses. The feeling of the cottages is one of stylish simplicity with a rural yet contemporary character. The atmosphere is carefree and relaxed making the cottages ideal for families or groups of friends. Bring your mountain bike or walking shoes to explore the farm paths, mountain side trails and single track, bring a costume to swim in the pool or farm dams, or simply enjoy the opportunity to sit and read, relax and generally take in the goodness of life.
